What is practical? Something we consider useful, right? What does one consider pretty? Well, that answer depends on whom you ask. It’s been my experience that women gravitate towards lacy, sheer bras because they’re considered prettier and more attractive. Women usually gawk and admire them but oftentimes they tell me “a bra this pretty can’t be useful” and that its purpose is to be shown off not worn for a regular occasion. So the question here is: can pretty be practical? My answer: Yes it can.
Let’s first ponder how many practical bras one needs. My recommendation would be four; a black t-shirt bra, one nude t-shirt bra (both having convertible straps), one strapless bra, and a sports bra. That’s all you need to cover your basics. When should you be wearing the practical bras? You should wear your nude bra under a white t-shirt, your black bra to blend in with your dark clothing, a strapless for spaghetti straps or halters, and your sports bra for when you hit the gym.
For those of you who didn’t know, if you’re wearing a t-shirt that’s not white, it can be layered with a “pretty” bra. In fact, it’s one of my favorite things to show my clients. They’re amazed when they see a pretty bra that doesn’t show through under a non-white t-shirt. It’s one of those things that you won’t understand if you don’t see for yourself. If you fear the chill in the air and the headlights turning on, because lacy bras are not molded, that’s what bra seams are for. They are placed in the center where the nipple is supposed to be placed behind & to hold those babies back.
So my point is pretty can be practical. So go out and get yourself a nice, lacy bra and remember you’re very much deserving of something pretty that makes you smile, even if no one else sees what’s under that t-shirt.
